As the Executive Mayor of the Breede Valley Municipality (BVM), I am delighted to extend my heartfelt congratulations on the official opening yesterday of Paediatric Burn Wound Care Rooms at Worcester Hospital and the Community Day Centre.
Burn injuries can be among the most traumatic experiences a child can endure, and the journey to recovery demands not only medical expertise but also empathy, patience, and a caring environment. This remarkable milestone marks a significant advancement in the government’s commitment to delivering compassionate, specialised, and high-quality care for our youngest and most vulnerable patients.

Special acknowledgement goes to the incredible donors, partners, and dedicated supporters whose generosity and commitment made this state-of-the-art facility possible, ensuring that every child receives the best possible care in an environment designed to promote comfort, dignity, and hope. I have no doubt, these new facilities will ensure that every child receives the best possible treatment in surroundings designed for comfort, dignity, and hope.

On behalf of the Council, Executive Management team, and all staff of the Breede Valley Municipality, I wish to commend everyone whose dedication and generosity made this project a reality. Your efforts embody the true spirit of service to our community, uniting innovation in healthcare with genuine human compassion. May these new rooms stand as a lasting symbol of our shared empathy and as a beacon of healing and hope for every child who enters their doors.
