(Cape Town) Ferlon Christians Leader of the African Christian Democratic Party welcomes the decision by City of Cape Town to put on hold its decision to cut back its services for disabled users.
This was reached after a settlement with the Western Cape Network on Mobility, represented by the Peoples Legal Centre. The agreement was made an order of the Cape High Court on Friday.

CoCT has announced that from Monday 8 September, the service will only be available for people with walking difficulties and wheelchair users. This decision would not allow the elderly, the visually impaired and people with cognitive disability to use the service.
Western Cape Network on Disability represents 92 organisations and close to 10,000 members. Their application to the High Court sought to set aside the decision by City of Cape Town by 60 days was granted.
Christians says that reliable transport is an essential service for the disabled and cannot be compromised.
