What an Inspiring Morning with Young Women: “Sis, Are You Okay?” Sparks Connection in Kayamandi
By: Staff Reporter

Stellenbosch – Kayamandi recently came alive with the voices, stories, and shared experiences of remarkable local young women who gathered under the heartfelt theme, “Sis, Are You Okay?” as part of this year’s Women’s Month celebrations.
The event brought together an inspiring panel of young professionals — all born and raised in Kayamandi — who have each made their mark in their respective fields. Among them were a psychologist, a social worker, a financial expert, an entrepreneur, and a pastor. Each speaker opened up about their personal and professional journeys, offering insight, encouragement, and a deep sense of community pride.
The morning was more than just a conversation; it was a powerful reminder of the importance of checking in on one another, prioritising mental and emotional well-being, and recognising that strength often comes from vulnerability. Attendees described it as a safe space to pause, reflect, and be reminded that self-care is not a luxury, but a necessity.
As one participant put it, “This was more than a talk — it was a lifeline and a celebration of the sisterhood we share in Kayamandi.”
The gathering ended with laughter, renewed hope, and a shared commitment to continue these honest, supportive conversations long after Women’s Month.
