E-bill Deadline Countdown: Submit Your Details Before 31 December 2025

By: Staff Reporter

The City of Cape Town is reminding residents to register for emailed municipal bills before 31 December 2025, as printed bills will no longer be sent by post after this date.

To continue receiving their accounts, customers must send their account number, cell phone number, and email address to the City via email or SMS.

Those who do not have an email address can contact the City’s Call Centre at 0860 103 089 for assistance.

‘Almost 517 000 Capetonians have already switched to emailed accounts, and we have about 200 000 to go. The City is sending direct communication to customers who still need to make the switch. We’re urging everyone to register as soon as possible, as postal billing will stop after 31 December 2025,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Finance, Councillor Siseko Mbandezi.

Councillor Mbandezi added, ‘Deadlines often come up faster than expected, so we encourage residents to act now. Simply email or SMS your account number, contact number, and email address—it’s a quick and easy process that ensures your bill is delivered straight to your inbox. For those without email addresses, assistance is available through the City’s Call Centre on 0860 103 089.’
